Eusébio is not a Fortaleza neighborhood: it is a separate municipality in the metropolitan region, bordering the city’s south zone. Many people who live there work, study and run errands on both sides of the line. This city guide covers a bit of Eusébio’s history, what makes it special and how lash extensions fit into a routine split between two cities.
A young city
According to IBGE, Brazil’s statistics institute, Eusébio was for a long time a district of the municipality of Aquiraz. It became a municipality under state law no. 11,333 of June 19, 1987, separated from Aquiraz, and was formally installed on January 1, 1989 — one of the youngest towns in the region.
The name honors the abolitionist Eusébio de Queiroz Matoso Câmara. IBGE also records that a 1933 state decree renamed the district Eusébio de Queiroz, and a 1938 decree changed it back to plain Eusébio. Locals are called eusebianos.
Lagoa da Precabura
Lagoa da Precabura lies between Fortaleza and Eusébio and, according to Diário do Nordeste, is the largest body of water in the Fortaleza metropolitan region. It forms along the bed of the Coaçu River, a tributary of the Cocó, and also receives water from the Sabiaguaba dunes area. Migratory birds use it as a stop to rest and feed.
In September 2022 the Ceará state government created the Lagoa da Precabura Environmental Protection Area (APA), a sustainable-use state conservation unit of about 629 hectares. If you enjoy nature watching, it is one of the most beautiful landscapes in the region; follow the protected-area rules when you visit.
Fiocruz Ceará
On the shores of the Precabura, in the Precabura district, is the campus of Fiocruz Ceará, a unit of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation. According to the federal government’s services portal, the campus has management and teaching buildings, laboratories and an auditorium, and accepts visits booked in advance for people aged 14 and over — a sign of how the town has also become a science and health hub.
Daily life in Eusébio
Living in Eusébio often means a lot of time in the car going to and from Fortaleza. A few ideas for an easier routine:
- Group errands on the same day and in the same area when you can.
- Keep sunscreen, water and sunglasses in your bag — the Ceará sun is strong all year.
- Use mornings and late afternoons for outdoor walks.
Lash extensions for a two-city routine
When time is short, lash extensions help: you wake up ready, with no mascara and no touch-ups in traffic. For everyday wear, Brazilian volume is a common choice for a light, natural result; Russian volume gives more intensity. Compare them in Brazilian vs Russian volume lashes.
Care that makes a difference
- For the first 24 hours, avoid water, steam, saunas and heavy sweating.
- Wash your lashes daily with lash foam and a soft brush.
- Use an oil-free remover, and skip waterproof mascara and lash curlers.
- After the beach or pool, rinse with fresh water and pat dry.
- Book refills in advance — usually every 15 to 21 days — ideally on a day you are already heading into Fortaleza.

Beauty in the area
Eusébio and south Fortaleza offer a wide range of beauty services: lash studios, brow artists, waxing, nail and hair salons. When choosing a lash artist, look for hygiene, mapping suited to your eye shape, proper isolation and clear aftercare guidance.
If you notice persistent itching, redness, burning or eye pain, stop using products around the eyes and see an ophthalmologist.

Getting to the studio from Eusébio

Once in Fortaleza, it takes Av. Ministro José Américo to Av. Pedro Lazar. It is about 14.2 km by car from the center of town.
